Come along as you walk through the world's most famous park. Created in the 19th Century as an "Urban Oasis" in the middle of the nation's largest city, Central Park is still one of the city's most visited attractions and called "the most photographed place in the world."
We'll'walk past famous sights on the park's fringes, such as Columbus Cirle, "The Ghostbusters Building" and The Dakota Apartments (John Lennon's home) as well as those in the park, including but not limited to Strawberry Fields, The Imagine Mosaic, Belvedere Castle, The Ramble, Bethesda Fountain, The Mall and much, much more.
Photo opportunities will abound and you'll see places you'll recognize from blockbuster movies or walk through wooded areas that will make you feel as if you've left the city and been transported to the Catskill Mountains.
Sights will include but not be limited to:
The USS Maine Memorial
The Ghostbuster's Building
The Dakata Apartments (John Lennon's home)
The Imagine Mosaic
Alice in Wonderland
Central Park Zoo
The Plaza Hotel
This is a walking tour on which you'll see sights along the park's edges as well as in the park. Your guide will first meet you at your hotel and then we'll head to the park's southeast corner, by the Plaza Hotel and Grand Army Plaza where we'll enter the park. After touring the park we'll exit at 86th Street and Central Park West by the Museum of Natural History. We'll then head south on Central Park West to Columbus Circle. The tour itself will end here and I will then bring you back to your hotel. We will take public transit between your hotel and the park. Your guide's transit of choice is the NYC subway as it is the quickest and most efficient way to travel. However, if you'd rather take a taxi or other mode of transportation, your wish is their command!
