For nearly a century, absinthe was an illegal substance in America and most of the world, blamed for everything from hallucinations and delirium to even violent rampages. Uncover how a French psychiatrist, ill-timed global temperance movement, and good ol' fashioned fake news caused this widely popular spirit to be banned until the 21st century.  Join New York Adventure Club as we taste and learn our way through the (now legal) spirit of absinthe, all inside a 1921 townhouse in Midtown that is now home to the Church of Sweden.  Led by Don Spiro, co-founder of the Green Fairy Society and one of the creators of New York's vintage scene, our unique experience at this intimate space in Manhattan will include:  An overview of absinthe, from its creation by a French doctor living in Switzerland, to why it was banned in so many countries under false pretenses A primer on how absinthe is made and traditionally served (hint: no burning sugar cubes!) A tasting of several different absinthe varietals from around the world A complimentary absinthe cocktail to sip on while mingling with other adventurers See you there!   *While snacks will be provided, we recommend eating beforehand About Don If you've been to a Jazz Age party or a swinging vintage get-together in New York over the past decade, you can thank Don Spiro for helping to start the movement. Don moved to New York in 2005 after working in Hollywood for over 15 years — when he noticed the hot live jazz scene from the west coast was missing in the Big Apple, he began organizing his own vintage parties, quickly becoming the city's premier event organizer for everything Jazz Age. More recently, Don co-founded the Green Fairy Society, an organization dedicated to absinthe’s history, production, and use — swing by one of his monthly absinthe events to learn about this rare spirit from the industry's movers and shakers. Disclaimer Must be 21 or older. ID will be checked at door. Ticket price is for educational demonstration with complimentary beverage tastings. By attending a New York Adventure Club experience, you accept our terms of service. Categories: Historic Sites, Social

Root Cause Analysis and Documentation Requirements for CAPA Overview:RCA is a popular topic and many companies realize its importance in correcting problems. However, there is still much confusion and many problems continue to recur. An intense 4 hour cannabis training for dispensary jobs in New Jersey, with certification test, to prepare you to work in a Medical Marijuana Dispensary. This course covering laws in BOTH New York and New Jersey will be held in the Newark area on December 8th, 2018!Hilton Newark Airport1170 Spring StreetElizabeth, NJ 07201 Itinerary This is a Professional Training Course to teach you what you need to know about cannabis and your state’s Cannabis Laws so that you can apply to work in a Medical Marijuana Dispensary. You will be working with cardholders in this position and must understand the medication before you start assisting others. The material is presented in a fast paced, 4 hour course with a summary exam at the end to get your certificate of completion. The goal of this class to help you understand the industry and the medication which will help boost your resume with the knowledge you need to speak intelligently when you land that interview for an opening at a dispensary in the near future. For those with no legal experience to put on a resume, training increases your chances of getting a job in the medical marijuana industry! On average, a Marijuana business owner gets over 200 resumes for every opening they post. With this training on your resume – you WILL stand out from the crowd! In New Jersey, physicians determine how much marijuana a patient needs and give written instructions to be presented to an alternative treatment center. The maximum amount for a 30-day period is two ounces. Approved Conditions include Seizure disorder, including epilepsy, intractable skeletal muscular spasticity, glaucoma; severe or chronic pain, severe nausea or vomiting, cachexia, or wasting syndrome resulting from HIV/AIDS or cancer; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, terminal cancer, muscular dystrophy, or inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease; terminal illness. It also allows edible forms of marijuana only for qualifying minors, who must receive approval from a pediatrician and a psychiatrist. As of Apr. 23, 2014, there were Alternative Treatment Centers with permits to operate in all three regions of the state as designated by the medical marijuana program: north, central, and south. Marijuana legalization was definitely on the minds of New Jersey’s lawmakers as they began their 2018 session. Sen. Nicholas Scutari and Asm. Reed Gusciora, who have been leaders on this issue, have reintroduced SB 830 / AB 1348, which would tax and regulate marijuana for adults 21 and over. In addition, Asm. Gusciora has introduced A 3581, which unlike Sen. Scutari’s bill would allow home cultivation, but would put a low cap on the number of grower/processors licensed in the state. Gov. Phil Murphy campaigned on a promise to legalize marijuana, emphasizing the need to address the harms caused by prohibition. He recently included revenues from marijuana taxes in his budget and called on lawmakers to pass a bill this year. Stephen Sweeney, the Senate President, has repeatedly expressed his support as well. The details of a final bill are expected to be the subject of extensive debate. Unfortunately, the opposition has already begun raising the same old fears, ignoring the years of data on the successes of the first states to end prohibition, Colorado and Washington. Gov. Phil Murphy said in a statement on June 16th that New Jersey is looking to double its amount of medical marijuana dispensaries, as the state is requesting applications for six new dispensaries. Some states call it a Budtender, Dispensary Agent, Compassion Care Technician or Patient Liaison. No matter what the title is, the job description is the same – it is the person that works behind the counter of a medical marijuana dispensary and here at HempStaff, we believe they need to be trained. They are the product specialists whose main responsibility is to be a product specialist. This person must be trained to work with cardholders and help educate patients on how cannabis can alleviate some of their medical symptoms. Dispensary agents must be able to not only work with cardholders on the products that may work best but also how to use these products and what the appropriate dosages should be. After passing the cannabis training for dispensary jobs in New Jersey, HempStaff offers you a resume review to help you get your document looking the best that it can before you start sending it out for posted positions. And of course, when our recruiters are contracted to fill entry level dispensary agents or cultivation site workers, we review our student’s resumes and contact them first!
